Age Limit
- General: 18 to 25 years (as on closing date of application)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- Central Govt. Employees: Up to 40 years (45 for SC/ST) with 3+ years service
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years beyond upper age limit after deducting military service
Eligibility Criteria
1. Seaman Level-1
- Essential:
- 10th Class pass or equivalent
- 3 years experience in sea-going mechanized vessel with 2 years in helmsman and seamanship work
- Desirable: Certificate of Competency as "Mate of fishing Vessel"
2. Greaser Level-1
- Essential:
- 10th Class pass or equivalent
- 3 years experience in sea-going mechanized vessel on main and auxiliary machinery maintenance
- Desirable: Certificate of Competency as "Engine driver of fishing vessel"
3. Tradesman Level-2
- Essential:
- ITI Certificate in Mechanic/Diesel/Fitter/Turner/Welder/Electrician/Instrumental/Carpentry
- 10th Class pass or equivalent
- 2 years experience in Engineering/Automobile/Ship Repair Organisation
- Desirable:
- Experience in FRP lamination and repair work
- First aid/Fire fighting/Industrial safety Fibre class Re-enforce Plastic
Selection Process
- Written Examination: For all eligible candidates
- Physical Endurance Test (PET): Swimming test for qualified candidates
- Document Verification: For candidates clearing both stages
- Medical Fitness: Final selection subject to medical fitness

Job Responsibilities
Seaman Level-1:
- Assist in maintenance of boat anchors, ropes and fenders
- Daily maintenance and cleaning of decks and living spaces
- Helmsman watch keeping and security duties
- Assist in quarterly hull maintenance and anti-fouling paint application
Greaser Level-1:
- Assist in cleaning machinery and equipment
- Daily maintenance of main and auxiliary machinery
- Watch keeping duties on running machinery
- Assist in maintenance and repair of machinery
Tradesman Level-2:
- Assist in repair and maintenance of machinery/equipment
- Clean and maintain all workshop equipment
- Undertake assigned work in workshop/stores/vessels

- Department reserves right to increase/decrease vacancies or cancel recruitment
